Musical Groups 

St. Croix offers students the opportunity to participate in several musical groups. The choral and instrumental organizations give a number of concerts throughout the school year as well as compete through the Minnesota State High School League.

2011-2012 Music Dept. Calendar

Music Parents Organization
St. Croix parents make the music and drama programs outstanding through their volunteerism.  All parents of students in Crusader Band, Crusader Chorus (9th grade), Croixaliers, or Crusader Choir (10-12th grades) are automatically members of the Music Parents Organization.  The first meeting of the Music Parents Organization (MPO) is on Monday, September 12, at 6pm in the Music room.  Please come to support your student and learn about the MPO events, both social and fundraising, for 2011-12.

MSHSL Contests
District and subsection contests are scheduled for early April.  State and Section Contests are scheduled for early May.  Please see Mr. Pufahl for more details.

There are several extracurricular opportunities, too, with rehearsals before or after school.

St. Croix Lutheran Croixaliers lead worship at SCLHS Association churches.The Croixaliers 
The Croixaliers, the official Ambassadors of SCLHS, is a select singing group chosen through auditions that performs at school concerts and many off-campus events at area worship services.

Click here for details and how to order.  Proceeds of the sales of the CDs will help defray the costs of traveling to New Ulm, Minnesota, in November for the National Choral Fest. Crusader Band & Choir perform Spring Concert Chapel Players
Students who play the piano or organ may volunteer as accompanists during chapel. Please see Mr. Weihing to get into the rotation.

Chamber Brass
The Chamber Brass ensemble prepares selections appropriate for concert and worship. They also prepare for an annual Christmas recital. This group typically rehearses Tuesdays mornings starting at 7:15 AM.  See Mr. Pufahl for more details.

Oakdale Avenue Jazz
Jazz Band members enjoy preparing selections for concerts.  See Mr. Pufahl for more details.

Chapel Band
Students interested in providing contemporary worship music during the daily chapel services practice vocals, keyboard, guitars, and drums under the direction of Mr. Gibson. Performances include occasional chapel services and Starlight Dinner & Variety Show.
